The philosophies and writings of Henry David Thoreau greatly amuse me. The reason laziness and success can co-exist is that, after hard-work provides the adequate skills and ability necessary to make work seem easy, one can effortlessly succeed. Rather than being driven by greater success, one self-motivates through the reward of even more effortlessly accomplishing things, thereby also moving on to harder tasks and preventing an onset of stagnation. The quest for laziness, wherein everything is unchallenging, is equivalently the quest to tackle challenges.
